Pirates like to be pretty too!

Well the kids decided it was time to make a snowman. Mike decided he wanted a snow pirate ARGGG! Lauren even got off the walk to help, and for a Texas girl who doesn't like snow; that was a lot for her to do! Mike put a pirate patch on the snow pirate and put on a pirate hat! While he was searching for the perfect pirate scarf, Lauren put a pretty feather boa on the pirate snowman! Of course Mike was not happy about this, but when Lauren tried to put a tiara on the snow pirate; he decided he would allow her to put the feather boa on him; but not the tiara... A great compromise if you ask me!

We ended the day with hot chocolate and blueberry muffins! It was a great day! Tomorrow is President's Day and their Grandmother Julie is coming over for a Valentine's Visit! It should make for a fun day!

Snow Day

So today around 3am, I wake up hearing clifford and Pepper growling and barking. It seems they do not approve of snow hitting the window, but would show a thief to the jewelry and silver. We have SNOW in Texas! A lot of snow, not the light dusting that is gone by noon.

A white winder wonderland! I couldn't believe schools weren't canceled and were running ON TIME! If it sprinkles around here, they delay school; so I was truly surprised we were running on time....which meant we were running behind ! Mike wanted to run in the snow and stay home, but today was a special Valentine's party for the "special" kids, so he went to school!

Lauren is NOT a fan of snow and insisted I turn the heat on outside! She kept shouting "my boots, oh no, snow get off my boots!".

Time to pick Mike up from school, the roads were already bad; so we left a little early.

We came home, had a snow fight with the neighbors and then did homework. Tomorrow the school is closed for a snow day, the roads will be a solid sheet of ice by morning...YUCK!

I tried to teach Mike to shovel snow, we really should invest in a snow shovel!

Mike wanted to play in the snow after dinner and Lauren watched from the comfort of her blankie while lounging on the sofa.
